How simple is this?
The objective of any consulting contract is to get to work immediately; finish the work in record time and leave everyone satisfied, informed and content. Successfully completed projects usually bring on repeat performances, and this is a desirable consequence. My rate will be determined based on the parameters of the assignment which shall be via virtual communications which include video and audio. This is the 21st century, and 21st or 22nd century technology will be applied.
Since I am only interested in short-term involvement, whether virtual management or virtual participation, I will oblige myself to only 4 hours per week, and no more. In my opinion, if we, together, cannot set the gears in motion and keep work moving in four hours, someone is dragging feet.
I work multiple contracts at one time, and am not prepared to become part of a management staff other than providing guidance, information and encouragement. That's what I do, and you can have it. Long-term is fine as long as we work in our own places of business, and we do not have to communicate more than necessary. If I am called for a conference outside the four-hour arrangement, I am paid an hour of my rate, to be determined when we talk. I have many professional references. Let's get going. Time's "a'wastin."
